MY Holistic Morning Routine

MY Holistic Morning Routine

Whether or not you wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5 am like me or not, having a good holistic geared morning routine can set the whole tone for your day!  Once, I figured this out, it benefited my health, productivity, and wellbeing exponentially.

Here are the holistic things I do habitually in my morning routine:

Define my intent for the day.

Each morning over the first few sips of my coffee I will define and even verbalize my intent or focus for the day. This can be just two minutes of my time or literally two seconds. It really depends on the day. Each day is a new opportunity so set your intent and go get it.

Fuel and nourish the body for defined intent.

Find the meal that is whole food, plant based that works for you and you look forward to chowing down in the morning. It sets the health and mindset for your nutrition throughout the day. Start it off deliciously healthy.

Find a beneficial boost.

Drinking herbal tea is one of the best things you can do BUT if you need something with a  little more zing coffee has its beneficial properties when it is not consumed in excess. Find that boost but don’t depend on it. When I find myself having to reach for coffee to even get going in the morning, I will scale it down and basically cut it out until I find myself waking up naturally again.

Strategize the day and tasks at hand.

This is HUGE! You will see where and when you are losing time during the day and it will hold you accountable for the minutes that are really important for you productivity. Check out my free Strategy list template!

Greet the day with gratitude.

Everyday can be challenging in itself with different obstacles but if you take a moment to express gratitude and realize how lucky are you to wakeup and face them. It puts life into a whole different perspective.

Read.

Ten minutes. Easy. You will waste how many minutes during the day scrolling social media.. take ten minutes day and enrich your mind. Fiction, non-fiction, the newspaper, whatever. Your brain, your vocabulary, and the world will be a better place if you exercise your brain for ten minutes a day. It even helps spark productivity and creativity..

Put down the phone and don’t start the day with social media.

Take the first 30-45 minutes of your day and step away from the phone, social media, and be alone to cultivate your body and mind for the day. We are all so connected that we need to download and allow our brains to restart.
