Natural Antibiotics, Easy How To Guide.

Natural Antibiotics, Easy How To Guide.

Working as a nurse for so long, I have seen antibiotics work wonders and the dark side of antibiotics with over use and multi drug resistant organisms.. aka the super bugs.

Herbal remedies have been around far longer than modern medicine SO with that.. there is a time and place for both. Getting back to the basics with herbal and other natural antibiotics might compliment your health and medical regimen. Here are some natural antibiotics and how to use them.

Apple Cider Vinegar. If you have been around my blog, you know how much I love this little gem. Apple cider vinegar can regulate body pH, which is critical in preventing and moderating many diseases. It has alkaline, antiseptic, and antibiotic properties. Check out my Strawberry ACV lemonadeor my ACV Poppyseed dressing on the “from the kitchen” page for easy uses in your daily diet.

Cinnamon. Cinnamon spice makes you feel real nice… but don’t consume it solo. Added to dishes you can get the full benefit.

Coconut oil. Coconut oil, like apple cider vinegar, is one of the healthiest home remedies and easiest to keep stocked in your pantry for multi-use. Coconut oil is considered to be a natural antibiotic due to its antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Also, coconut oil is an antioxidant that can be used to boost the immune system.

Turmeric. Hello turmeric.. again if you have been around my blog, you know how much I incorporate turmeric in my daily nutrition. Turmeric has been used holistically for centuries. Turmeric not only has anti-inflammatory properties, but it is also antibacterial. EVEN effective against some of the worst, like H. Pylori.

Garlic. As potent as the smell, garlic is one of the best natural antibiotics out there. That doesn’t even include the number of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that garlic contains. For the most effective consumption, take garlic in crushed or chewed form. This way, you get the most benefits out of the magical compound in garlic, allicin. This compound has almost the same characteristics and properties as penicillin. FURTHER, even aside from antibiotic properties, garlic is also antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and an antioxidant. It can be used to treat anything from inflammation to a serious infection.

Onion. A friend to garlic but not as potent, onions contain some of the same properties as garlic and is easier on the stomach.

Oregano Oil. Used to improve immune system, oregano oil  can also help heal infections within the GI tract. However, a word of caution! Do not consume oregano oil for long periods of time which can lead to a healing crisis due to bacteria die-off.

Cabbage. Only one cup of cabbage contains 3/4 your RDI of Vitamin C. Its one of the most potent antibiotic cruciferous vegetables. Consume shredded cabbage as a salad or as a side dish as slaw. For the most potent for, try fresh cabbage juice.
