Summertime Turmeric Tea

Summertime Turmeric Tea

There is no denying the health benefits of turmeric and ginger. This has been a refreshing favorite of mine for sometime SO taking my wintery/fall favorite and summer-ized it! 

Ingredients:

  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 lemons, sliced 
  • 1/4 cup fresh ginger, chopped
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2-3 tsp of stevia or maple syrup (use stevia if you want a “skinnier” version)

Instructions:

Add water, sliced lemons, chopped ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon sticks to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 5-10 minutes. Remove and keep covered while allowing the mix to cool.

While cooling, add lemon juice and your sweetener choice in a pitcher.

Strain the tea as you pour it in the pitcher, discarding the cinnamon sticks, ginger, and lemon slices.

If needed add more sweetener, then simply pour over ice and ENJOY.
