Self Care September Day Twenty Four: Positive Affirmations.

Have you ever heard about “positive affirmations?”

Positive affirmations are used for a variety of purposes. Most generally, they are used to reprogram the subconscious mind, to encourage us to be confident in certain things about ourselves or about the world around us. They are also effective in assisting us to create our own realities. The dreams that come to fruition, often in terms of wealth, love, professional success, and happiness.  These are extremely applicable because our subconscious mind plays a major role in the actualization of our lives and the manifestation of our desires. Belief in ourselves at the subconscious level, will guide behavior and have significant impact on the outcome of choices

This is that whole law of attraction principle. You vibe attracts your tribe.. or on the simplest level feeling good about ourselves increases our positivity, and our lives tend to run a little smoother.

VICE VERSA.. have you noticed when your down on yourself that it almost feels like a run of bad luck?? When we feel bad about ourselves and have a negative attitude, we tend to engage in self defeating attitudes and behaviors which of course produce the not so great outcomes.

HOW TO BEGIN?

Affirmations are in the first person. Beginning with “I or I am” makes them powerful, solidifying statements that can prompt change and motivate.

Always positive.

Always state affirmations in the positive. For example.. instead of telling yourself “I have to or I am stuck going to the gym.”  You can say “I am so lucky I get to go to the gym.” “I am so grateful my body is able to go to the gym.” OR how about “I am a healthy, vibrant person, and I love the way I feel after a great gym session.”  Set yourself up for success.

Be  in the present.

Be in the present.. and conduct your positive affirmations as if they are happening right now! You don’t want to verbalize one more thing on your to do list. So instead of saying, “I will be beautiful when I am fit in two months.” Tell yourself, “I am beautiful and fit. I am so blessed to be able to accomplish my goals at the gym.”
