Self Care September Day Fifteen: Try your hand at Essentials Oils.
Essentials oils can be very intimidating at first but have many uses. Easy uses that may empower your wellness. You can add a couple drops to bath water or homemade coconut oil body cream.
Here are MY favorite ways to use essential oils.
- Add them in a diffuser.
- Dabbing a little behind my ears or wrists.
- Using a little for a quick boost or relaxant.
- Mixing in a little with lotion.
If you’re feeling courageous and want to give it a shot.. here are the best one’s and uses:
Soothing lavender for stress, insomnia, allergies, and cuts.
Peppermint for alleviating headaches, nausea, heartburn, muscle soreness, skin irritation, and energy boost.
Frankincense helps arthritic pain, cellular regenerations, and dry skin.
Possibly my top five favorite: Eucalyptus is great for colds, sinus pressure, pain, asthma, and flu symptoms. I love eucalyptus and lavender at bedtime!
With essential oils it is VERY important to make sure the route of usage. Not all essentials oils are pure and ingestible. Some require a carrier to be applied topically. NEVER ingest synthetic oils, I don’t even buy synthetic. They are the same quality of potency as pure oils. Always check the label and educate yourself on the specifics to your chosen essential oils.
