Reducing Inflammation with Nutrients.

We have all experienced those minor aches and pains. That sluggish, not ourselves blah. Do you know one of the primary causes for this? Inflammation.

LONG STORY SHORT

Inflammation is a vital part of the body’s immune response. It’s our body’s attempt to heal after an injury or repair damaged tissue and to defend against invaders including: viruses and bacteria.

How it occurs: chemicals from the body’s white blood cells are released into the blood or affected tissues to protect the body from foreign substances. Some of the chemicals cause a leak of fluid into the tissues, resulting in swelling. This process stimulates nerves and causes pain.

Reducing inflammation can be simple with just the addition of these foods.

Fermented foods and beverages: Probiotic bacteria promotes healthy, disease fighting flora inside your digestive tract. I love Kombucha teas and fermented varieties of sauerkraut.

Omega-3 fatty acids: packing in omegas can be easy with chia seeds. These little beauties will reduce oxidative stress throughout the body and minimize inflammation in the brain and cardiovascular system.

Tart cherries: one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory foods. They have been shown to even provide relief for arthritis, gout, joint pain, and other conditions.
