Self Care September Day Nineteen: Mechanism of movement and our brains.

Mechanism of movement is so integral to every part of our day, to our well being, and to our physical well being. There is one type of movement that is connected to happiness we sometimes forget.. dance

If you are happy, you feel like dancing. Inversely, if you start to dance, you start to feel happy. Dancing makes us feel good, lifts our moods, and brings in positive vibes. 

I have posted so much about the benefits of meditation for brain and body. This practice of entraining the mind and disconnecting extraneous thought, and focusing on the moment decreased stress, increased cognitive ability, and improved memory. Dancing makes you focus on the present, you’re engaged at that very moment, and can even enter an altered state of consciousness. That feeling when people get lost in the music. Sometimes if you find mediation difficult, dancing can be a great funnel to get you started. Dance can influence health and assist in strengthening the brain’s cognitive function

Being happy is good for our overall health. There is really no reason for us not to dance more often. I hope you dance..
